Technology - how is it changing motor neurone disease research and care?

This year, our guest speaker is Dr Esther Hobson, Senior Lecturer in Neurology at the University of Sheffield, who will explore the place of specialist technology in enhancing care and research for people with MND.

With an aim to bring current research and thinking to members of the multidisciplinary team and demonstrate how this might feed into their practice, Dr Esther Hobson will:

— Explore the place of specialist technology in the enhancement

of care and research for people living with MND

— Provide an overview of what we know about technology and its

role in MND

— Introduce and explore the process of identifying appropriate

technologies

— Explore how to support people living with and affected by MND

with decisions relating to technology.

The Annual Stephen Hawking Lecture 2026 'Technology' has been approved by the Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom for 2 category 1 (external) CPD credit(s).
